Jackson County Court Records Access Rules
Kentucky court records are handled under a court-specific access framework. KRS 26A.200 says Court of Justice records belong to the Court of Justice and are controlled by the Supreme Court, which means court files are not handled exactly like ordinary county agency records. Restricted Jackson County Court Records

Older records may need more precise identifiers. KCOJ notes that State Records Center requests require case and file locator numbers and cannot be searched by name or Social Security number. Bring or provide the case number if known, party names, court division, case type, filing date or approximate year, and the copy type needed.
Phone routing matters in Jackson County because the same office supports more than one trial court level. Circuit matters use the Circuit phone number, while District matters use the District phone number. A felony indictment, divorce case, adoption matter, or contested probate issue is not routed the same way as a traffic citation, misdemeanor, small claim, or probate of a will.
